Due to a recent settlement, businesses that purchased many telecommunications services from March, 2003 through July, 2006 are entitled to receive refunds of the Federal Excise Tax paid on those services, plus daily compounded interest. About The Telecommunications Excise Tax Refund:
Eligible Expenses: Includes inbound toll-free services, landline and mobile long distance (at fixed per minute rates), private lines, LAN, internet, broadband, pagers, beepers, voicemail, data-only services, and others.

Safe Harbor: Even if you have applied for a refund under the 1% safe harbor provision, we may be able to double your refund.

Time Period: In general, the period covered includes taxes on telecommunications services from 3/1/03-7/31/06. However, you may be entitled to refunds that go back as far as 1999.
